“I can still vividly remember an instance back in my first year when I had to return home urgently on a Sunday. I’d forgotten to collect my passport from Student Services during the week and was in a state of panic that Saturday. While Student Services was closed, I found the library open and sought help from one of the librarians. I just didn’t know who else I could ask. To my surprise, he was more than happy to assist. He called his colleague in Student Services, who very kindly came back to the campus and passed me my passport.

“I felt really bad that I had to make him rush over to the campus in his home clothes just to retrieve my passport. From that experience, I came to view the university staff very differently – that they are very responsible and genuinely care for the students. Through the years, I’ve also encountered other staff such as lab technicians and lecturers who have been very supportive and made my uni life most memorable. So, I’d like to say a big “thank you” to all the staff for their hard work and dedication.” –Yeow Peck Kah, Environmental Engineering student
