“One thing that attracted me to Curtin Malaysia was the incredible diversity of its students. Since I love to learn about other cultures and be surrounded by people of different backgrounds, I immediately enrolled after checking the details of my desired major and its course fee.
“I also chose Curtin because it’s highly-regarded degrees and high standard of education. We have the same curriculum, academic calendar and exams as students at Curtin Australia and the degree certificate we get is the same. Furthermore, the tuition fees and living costs are reasonable and I didn’t mind coming all the way from West Malaysia to study here. With an external scholarship, I can achieve the qualification I have dreamt of with minimum spending.
“Now, as I look back after three years as a student here, I’m delighted I made the decision to join the university. In addition to widening my perspectives of different cultures, I have gained valuable knowledge and skills from my course. To meet more people from around the world, I joined AIESEC as a project committee member and had the opportunity to execute volunteer projects aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
“Although COVID-19 hit us in 2020, I did not feel disconnected from my lecturers as they provided me with sufficient online support and consultation sessions. I’m glad I managed to do well despite the challenges, receiving the Dean’s List award in 2020. I have learned a lot over these three years and most proud to be a Curtinian.” –Yeo Su Ying, Chemical Engineering student
