“Hi, I’m chemical engineering student Wong Wei Hao.

When I graduated from high school, I had a hard time choosing the right university. I explored different universities that offered my desired major. It was tough coming to a decision as I knew whatever decision I made would affect my future. In the end, Curtin Malaysia stood out amongst all of them, simply because the course it offered suited me the best, and the fact it offered a quality Australian higher education right here in East Malaysia.

I  started my studies during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, in hybrid mode. The University succeeded in providing a safe and conducive learning environment for us students and we were able to continue effective learning. Moreover, the lecturers were very approachable, supportive, and always ensuring that we received all the help we needed. It also helped to have some really supportive friends.

Now that things on campus are back to normal, how am I making the most of my time at university? I’ve decided to fully step out of my comfort zone, participating in lots of events organised by student clubs, gaining valuable knowledge and skills for my major. I want to experience all I can and enjoy every bit of the experience until I graduate.” – Wong Wei Hao, Chemical Engineering student
