“Growing up in Varanasi, India – one of the world’s oldest living cities – sparked my curiosity about science and how it can improve lives. That curiosity brought me to Curtin Malaysia, where I am pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering, developing biosensors for food safety applications.

“Research is a journey of persistence, involving long hours in the lab, countless experiments, and learning from both successes and setbacks. What keeps me motivated is knowing that every discovery has the potential to create real-world impact.

“Beyond my research, I am proud to serve as President of the Curtin Malaysia Postgraduate Research Association (CMPRA), where I help foster a supportive and connected community for HDR students.

“Living in Miri has made the experience even more rewarding, with its natural beauty providing the perfect balance to the challenges and excitement of research.” – Vinish Ranjan Srivastava, PhD (Chemical Engineering) student
