“Pursuing my foundation year and degree at Curtin Malaysia has been my biggest challenge in life. When I first joined Curtin Malaysia in 2015, I was very apprehensive because it was my first time away from home and I was unsure about being able to adapt to the new environment and teaching methods.
“But in time, I was able to adapt and one of my greatest joys of university life was being able to make friends with students from other countries. I enjoyed learning their languages and about their different cultures. I think the cultural diversity and culture of inclusiveness of the campus really helped me adapt.
“The opportunity to participate in events organised by the various student clubs, the student council and the university was another factor. I have won multiple awards since I started participating in the events, including two Most Valuable Player and three Top Scorer awards in the futsal tournaments held every semester. Participating in the Curtin Cup, the biggest sporting event held annually, was also very memorable.
“Curtin Malaysia has all the characteristics to help students grow and prepare for the working world. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great international university.” –Thinesh Periasamy, Petroleum Engineering student
