Stella Tan Wen Jia

“Hi, I’m Stella Tan Wen Jia, a Petroleum Engineering student at Curtin Malaysia. How time flies and I now find myself in the final semester of my four-year degree, and it’s been an exhilarating experience all the way!

In terms of academics, I have had the opportunity to attend both face-to-face lectures at the Malaysia campus and through distributed learning, classes at the Perth campus. This was a real bonus for me! The teaching staff are very supportive and always ready to help students, which is very helpful for an inquisitive and sometimes apprehensive student like me.

I remember posting a ton of questions for my lecturer on the online forum when doing a design project when we went online during the COVID-19 lockdown. I was wondering if I was being a nuisance, but it turns out my lecturer was quite impressed with the way I asked so many questions.

As for our campus, I really like the open spaces and surrounding nature. As soon as you step out of a building, you can relax and enjoy the fresh air and green spaces, colourful flowers, shady trees, and chirping birds. In the evenings, the sunsets are simply spectacular and mesmerising.” – Stella Tan Wen Jia, Petroleum Engineering student
