“My journey at Curtin Malaysia has been both meaningful and transformative, and I’m grateful for the opportunities that have shaped me beyond the classroom.
“When I first arrived at Curtin Malaysia, I was amazed by the wide range of experiences available outside academics. In just four months, I participated in five university events and two club activities, including volunteering with the Curtin Volunteers!. Each experience introduced me to new people, new perspectives, and opportunities to grow. It showed me that Curtin Malaysia is more than a place to earn a degree; it’s a community that encourages students to develop both personally and professionally.
“One of my biggest challenges has always been overcoming my shyness. Meeting new people and speaking up in unfamiliar situations didn’t come naturally to me. But through Curtin’s welcoming environment and the encouragement of supportive friends, staff, and fellow students, I’ve gradually stepped outside my comfort zone. Every event I joined helped me build confidence, strengthen my communication skills, and believe more in myself.
“This journey has taught me that growth doesn’t happen overnight. It begins with taking small, courageous steps and being willing to embrace new experiences.
“As I continue my studies, I look forward to exploring more opportunities, developing new skills, and giving back to the Curtin community. I hope my story reminds others that university is not only about academic success, but also about becoming the best version of yourself.” – Rossyah bin Rosidi, Applied Science (Construction Management) student
