“I was born with Nystagmus, a condition which causes my eyes to make uncontrolled movements. Due to this, I have low vision and my eyesight cannot be corrected. I’m actually considered legally blind. I consider myself lucky, in a sense, that I was born with Nystagmus, which many people consider a disability. I consider it quite normal because I have never experienced perfect vision before in my life, though having limitations due to this disability can be a bit troublesome at times. Nevertheless, it has enabled me to find more creative ways to overcome the challenges. I can’t rely on the usual ways of study, so I have to fully utilise other means such as i-lectures. Having Nystagmus hasn’t stopped me from getting where I want to be.” –Philip Ting Kin Tien, Chemical Engineering student
