“I enrolled in Curtin Malaysia as part of a double degree at my previous university, Universitas Indonesia. I’m taking Chemical Engineering and I can’t deny that it’s a challenging course, but Curtin Malaysia has helped me gain considerable knowledge and skills in my field.
“Coming from a big city like Jakarta, adapting to a much smaller city like Miri was also quite difficult at first. But as time went by, I began to fall in love with the place, especially the peace and tranquility it offers and its breathtaking sunsets.
“Initially, I thought one of the hardest things about leaving Jakarta was leaving my treasured hobby (cheerleading) behind but then I discovered the Curtin Cup on campus where cheerleading is a big part of the annual sports competition. Since then, I have taken part in every competition and as a captain, led my team to gold two years in a row.
“Besides the Curtin Cup, Transcendance and iFest are also my favourite events each year. It just shows that besides academia, Curtin Malaysia has other avenues for students to develop and excel and we’ll graduate with both critical hard and soft skills.” –Nindita Larasati, Chemical Engineering student
