Low Wai Wah
“Hi, I’m Low Wai Wah, Head of the Built Environment Department and Chair of Learning & Teaching at the Faculty of Humanities and Health Sciences at Curtin Malaysia. Since joining in 2015, I’ve truly come to appreciate the beauty and tranquility of this campus. Its scenic landscapes provide a refreshing escape that recharges both mind and spirit, allowing students and staff alike to thrive.
Originally from Kuala Lumpur, I’m a city dweller at heart. My first visit to this peaceful campus left a lasting impression, with its lush surroundings so different from the cityscape I knew. Life in Borneo, with its rich culture and vibrant traditions, sparked my curiosity and desire to learn more about the island. I now find joy in the simplicity and close-knit community of this small city.
Being part of the Curtin Malaysia family has been incredibly fulfilling. I’m grateful for the support from our top management, which fosters a positive work culture that encourages growth and collaboration. As an academic, I love sharing my knowledge with students and watching them grow. As a department head, I find it rewarding to work alongside dedicated colleagues who strive for excellence in our programs. And as the faculty chair for learning and teaching, I am excited to collaborate with teams across the university, pushing forward toward our shared goals.”- Low Wai Wah, Head of the Built Environment Department and Chair of Learning & Teaching at the Faculty of Humanities and Health Sciences
