Ling Sheng Zhi

“Hi, I’m Ling Sheng Zhi, a Foundation in Engineering and Science student at Curtin Malaysia. One of my proudest achievements was becoming a PETRONAS scholar and pursuing my studies here. Initially, I had my doubts about studying in Borneo, but stepping onto the campus completely changed my perspective. The vibrant, international environment has made my university experience both exciting and enriching.

One of my most rewarding experiences has been mentoring in the maths mentor-mentee program. Guiding mentees taught me patience, adaptability, and the power of clear communication. Seeing their confidence grow reaffirmed my passion for helping others excel in their studies. This motivated me to become a peer-to-peer facilitator, supporting more students on their academic journey.

After foundation, I plan to pursue chemical engineering – a field that blends my love for science with real-world problem-solving. From developing sustainable processes to creating new technologies, I’m eager to make a meaningful impact.
