“Hi, I’m Lim Jie, a second-year Mechanical Engineering student at Curtin Malaysia, and I’m excited to share my journey with you.
When I first arrived at Curtin Malaysia in 2022, I was struck by the beauty and energy of the campus. The lush greenery, wide open spaces, and modern facilities immediately made me feel like I had stepped into an environment where I could grow not just academically, but personally as well.
One of the best parts of my experience has been the orientation program, which made the transition from secondary to tertiary education seamless. It wasn’t just about getting to know the campus; it was about connecting with an incredible group of people – peers and seniors – who quickly became friends and mentors. I’ll always remember how warm and welcoming everyone was from day one.
The lecturers here are amazing too. They bring so much expertise to the classroom but are also approachable and genuinely invested in helping us succeed. Whether I’ve faced challenges in my studies or just needed advice, they’ve always been there to offer guidance.
But it hasn’t all been about academics. I’ve been fortunate to immerse myself in campus life by reviving the Curtin Strikers Bowling Club. Hearing about the club’s pre-pandemic popularity from seniors and lecturers inspired me to bring it back. As the club’s president, I’ve learned so much about leadership and communication, all while having fun and building a community where students can connect, unwind, and enjoy a shared passion for bowling.
Looking back, my time at Curtin Malaysia has been full of meaningful friendships, personal growth, and unforgettable moments. I can’t wait to see what the future holds as I continue this exciting journey!”- Lim Jie, Second-year Mechanical Engineering student
