Lee Chao Cherng

“Hi, I’m Lee Chao Cherng, and I’m thrilled to share my journey at Curtin Malaysia. In 2023, I started my academic adventure in the Foundation in Engineering and Science, and today, I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Computing in Software Engineering.

My passion for programming is what led me here. While I’ve always enjoyed experimenting with programming on my own, the programming courses offered during Foundation truly ignited my interest and solidified my decision to delve deeper into this field.Curtin Malaysia has been a transformative experience for me. The warm and welcoming environment made it easy to settle in, especially as I was adapting to post-pandemic life. I’m incredibly grateful to the dedicated and supportive lecturers who have guided me along the way. They’ve made all the difference in shaping my learning journey.

Beyond academics, I’ve embraced campus life to the fullest by joining amazing clubs like the Volleyball Club and the Google Developer Student Club (GDSC). Volleyball has always been a passion of mine, and I’ve had so much fun honing my skills during the club’s weekly sessions. It’s been the perfect outlet to balance my studies and stay active.

The GDSC has been a game-changer for me, sparking a deeper interest in software engineering. Through the club’s workshops and the mentorship of skilled seniors, I’ve gained hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and discovered a world of possibilities in my chosen field.

Most importantly, these activities have allowed me to forge friendships that have made my university life vibrant and unforgettable.
