Lam San San

“When I first joined Curtin Malaysia, many  people asked me why I chose to study here and not at the main campus in Perth.  I chose Curtin Malaysia because of its affordability and the fact it offers  exactly the same courses and degrees as Curtin in Australia. It is located in  Borneo, a very unique place, and in Malaysia, a country not that different  from Vietnam where I’m from. So, I’m happy I’m getting the quality Australian  education I need, at a cost that will not burden my family, and I’m  comfortable in a not too dissimilar Southeast Asian setting and culture.

“I  remember my first semester here and missing orientation week. As a freshman  arriving late, I felt bewildered and frustrated, but the people in the International Division helped a lot. They got a senior to help me with class registration, advise me on preparing for lectures and tutorials, and give me  a tour of the campus. They also organised many activities, especially for international students, such as a movie night and barbecue.
