“Coming to Curtin Malaysia as an international student meant adapting quickly to a new culture, new systems, and life far from home. It wasn’t always easy, but it built my resilience and broadened my perspective. I’ve learned that adapting isn’t about losing who you are; it’s about expanding who you can become.
In 2025, I served as Head of the International Sub-Council. That role allowed me to turn my own experiences into support for others. I worked closely with new international students, helping them adjust, find healthy ways to cope, and feel less alone.
I always encourage students to embrace Malaysian culture, stay curious, and surround themselves with people who uplift and inspire them. Success isn’t just about personal achievement – it’s about lifting others as you grow.
Through leadership, service and academics, I am becoming not just a better student, but a global citizen ready to make a difference.”– Kangkolo Junior Nteh, Accounting & Finance student
