“After finishing SPM in 2023, I wasn’t sure what to do next. I’d heard great things about Curtin Malaysia from a relative, so I enrolled hoping to find my direction. After completing my foundation, I discovered my interest in the business world and chose the Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Marketing – a decision I’m grateful for today.

I started off shy, but Curtin Malaysia’s warm and supportive environment helped me open up. Joining clubs and meeting new people boosted my confidence, and becoming an Orientation Leader was a major turning point. Helping new students feel welcomed made me more outgoing and proud of my growth.

Studying in my hometown made the transition easier, and as someone from an indigenous background, seeing others from diverse indigenous communities on campus made Curtin Malaysia feel like home. With its vibrant mix of cultures, Curtin Malaysia offers endless opportunities.

I hope future generations, especially indigenous youth, see the same possibilities here.”- Japfeth Engan Madang, Finance and Marketing student
