“If someone had asked me what I wanted to do when I was 16, studying business was definitely not the answer. Yet, here I am taking Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in public relations and management. Since I was a young girl, my ambition was to be a veterinarian because I’m very passionate about animals. However, I believe that it’s not a must to do what you love, so long as you can accept that reality. I was a science stream student back in high school but was encouraged to study commerce instead. In the beginning, I had doubts about majoring in PR and management. The transition was a real struggle but I soon discovered I really love writing and interacting with others. Consequently, towards the end of my first year, two of my best units were PR and management! It made me realise that I did not choose the wrong path and the current course I am taking is meant for me.” –Janice Ng, Public Relations and Management student
