“From the court to the café, I’m all about passion, precision, and pushing my limits. I’m a Foundation in Commerce student from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and have been playing volleyball since high school. Over the years, it’s become so much more than just a sport to me. It’s where I challenge myself – physically, mentally, and emotionally.
As a current member of the Curtin Volleyball Club, one of my biggest goals is to win gold at the MASISWA State competition. We managed to bring home a bronze last year, and I’m more determined than ever to level up.
When I’m not training at the campus multi-purpose hall, you’ll probably find me working part-time at a local café at Marina ParkCity. Coffee is my daily fuel, and latte art is my creative outlet. I’ve been practicing different designs, and my next challenge is to master a rabbit-shaped latte art. It’s tricky, but I love the process of learning something new – just like in sports.
Juggling studies, work, and sports isn’t always easy, but I genuinely enjoy every part of it. I believe university life is about more than just classes; it’s about growth, passion, and making the most of every opportunity. And that’s exactly what I’m doing here at Curtin Malaysia.”-Ivan Chua, Foundation in Commerce student
