“Right after I graduated with a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Systems and Networking, I joined an MNC as a project services engineer. But whenever my friends asked me what I really wanted to do in life, I found I actually wanted to do humanitarian work. It didn’t take long for me to feel jaded in the corporate world. I had the nagging feeling I could be doing much more. Somehow, doors were opened to me and I’m now heading to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka for a 2-month humanitarian mission with MyCorps Malaysia.
“I’m only just starting out in humanitarian work but I’ve never been so excited to wake up each day. When I was 15, I had visions of being a journalist or aid worker in a war-torn country, dodging bullets, handing out rations, and interviewing the locals. I’m not quite there yet, but I am really thrilled that my dreams are slowly coming together.” –Hanani Shukri, Bachelor of Technology graduate
