“Hi, I’m first-year chemical engineering student Fionne Lee Jia Ee.

“Choosing Curtin Malaysia for my further studies was probably the best decision I’ve ever made. It is well-known for its engineering courses and cross-cultural learning experiences, and despite being in a relatively small city, the diversity of its campus community is really impressive.

“When I first arrived for my first-year studies on campus, I was filled with mixed emotions. Since my foundation year was entirely online, being away from my family for the first time and meeting new people made me both excited and nervous. However, this was quickly alleviated by the friendliness of the staff and orientation leaders during O-Week. I was particularly impressed by how warm and welcoming they were.

“In addition, the diverse campus community has encouraged me to socialise more and I have gotten to know many wonderful people and made many new friends. I consider myself fortunate to have this opportunity as they have helped me grow as a person.

“I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn, but I am optimistic that Curtin Malaysia has the necessary resources and welcoming community to support my endeavours.
