“When I decided that I wanted to further my studies at Curtin Malaysia, I was very excited, not only because I would be pursuing my studies in a well accredited University, but also because it would enable me to do something I am very passionate about, that is, to experience different cultures.
“The thought of not fitting in, or taking time to adjust to a new environment, as well as any language barriers, completely slipped my mind in my first few weeks in Miri because the people were so friendly and the majority could speak English.
“What I like most about university life here is the vast diversity of people and cultures within the campus community, the amazingly quiet and peaceful environment that’s very conducive for studies, and the wide variety of extra-curricular activities that students can participate in.” – Essivieta Loren Joaquim António (Mozambique), Accounting and Finance student
