“I have enjoyed writing ever since I could form a proper sentence. I love how words can be used to express emotions and describe things. My love of writing has brought many exciting opportunities, including an internship with The Edge Malaysia. I’d interned at a number of places before but none gave me the thrill like my stint at The Edge did.

“During my internship, I contributed two articles, four listings and attended two events. I was so proud of my achievement that I actually had the first two pages of article framed because it was my first career milestone and meant a great deal to me.

“Many students pursue courses or fields of study because they are somehow pressured to, or simply because it’s likely to pay the bills in the future. One should pursue one’s own passion. Life is too short to not do something you are really passionate about. Grab opportunities and seize the day because if you’re not doing it now, you’re not likely to do it later.” –Emily Yap, Mass Communication student
