“I started my university journey at Curtin Malaysia as soon as I completed secondary school, but now in my final year, final semester, I never thought I would have to undergo the last leg of the journey learning online off-campus due to the global pandemic. Nonetheless, I am overjoyed at being able to complete my undergraduate degree!

“It has been a most unique final year to say the least, but the online learning experience has also been very rewarding. I was able to build my communication and interpersonal skills with my online classmates throughout the year. I found myself being more open and willing to connect to people I never met. I thought it would be hard to get in touch with my lecturers if I had burning questions about my assignments at first but that has not been the case. In fact, I was extremely thankful to my lecturers for always being easy to reach and responding to my emails instantly. So, despite online learning being challenging and needing more work than face-to-face learning, they are still workable if we pace ourselves and stay on top of the assignments.

“I’m really proud to be a Curtin graduate and my experience at Curtin Malaysia has been truly remarkable. I have no regrets whatsoever in taking the Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Public Relations. The course has prepared me well for my future career path, including the chance to intern with Curtin Malaysia’s dynamic Corporate Communications team. It was a great experience and I learned a lot of things.

“As a graduating student, I encourage students who are still in the midst of their student journeys to enjoy your university life, strike the right balance between your academic pursuits and social activities, and take care of your health and wellbeing. And best of luck to you all!” –Eileen Wong Ye Xin, Marketing and Public Relations graduate (Sabah)
