Dr Loh Ing Hoe

“I recently completed a 2-month internship with the Asian Research Institute for Environmental Law in Chiang Mai, Thailand, which was a really amazing experience. I really appreciated the opportunity to be attached with an international research institute, experiencing a work environment that was quite different from what I was accustomed to as a university lecturer. The internship was also a great opportunity for me to gain industry exposure and enhance my research skills.

“My work there was both interesting and challenging. I was involved in carrying out an environmental impact assessment of the Mekong region, given my experience in environmental law research. Learning how environmental impact assessments are done in other countries was a real eye-opener, and I was very privileged to work with the director of the research institute himself. I also co-authored a research paper with him and, though my internship has ended, continue to keep in touch with the research institute in my ongoing research.” –Dr Loh Ing Hoe, Law Lecturer, Faculty of Business
