Dion Vun Neng Jie

“Hi, I’m Dion Vun Neng Jie, a proud Sarawakian currently in the last semester of my foundation year at Curtin Malaysia.

Choosing Curtin for my tertiary education was a no-brainer. Its ranking in the prestigious QS Rankings and its world-ranked engineering programs, especially in chemical engineering, made it my top choice.

My student life at Curtin Malaysia has been an incredible experience. The campus is filled with brilliant minds from all over the world who share similar interests, making it a very fulfilling experience. I also became a Curtin Social Ambassador and played a key role in organising the Great Escape event for local secondary school students.

But my most fulfilling role was been serving as a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) mentor for diploma and foundation Mathematics students. Besides gaining new knowledge and skills, I’ve made many new friends who share my interest in maths. The P2P program has also helped me improve my time management as I’m responsible not only for my own grades but also helping others achieve theirs. My tutoring skills have also improved after months of mentoring the students.
