“When I recall my early days in the university, my daily routine involved just attending classes and heading straight home afterwards. My priority was to study hard and achieve good results. I never really thought about joining any student clubs or socialising with my fellow students because, honestly, I thought it was troublesome and a waste of time. I didn’t have many friends as a result – only a few, but in our second year, we parted ways as we ended up choosing different courses.
“However, this year, I decided to make a change when a friend convinced me to help out at an event. It was my first time being involved in a club event and it turned out to be a huge success. The experience helped me learn to communicate and socialise more freely with others and, as a result, I made a lot of new friends! It has made my university experience so much more meaningful.” –Chua Yee Perng, Mechanical Engineering student
