Ir. Dr. Christine Yeo Wan Sieng

“Before I joined Curtin Malaysia, I worked as a technical support engineer with Delta Region Engineering Sdn. Bhd. in Miri and an environmental engineer with Cahajasa Sdn. Bhd. in Kota Kinabalu. It was a tough decision trading my engineering career for a career in academia and research, but since I also wanted to gain higher qualifications and wider experience, I decided to join the university as a full-time MPhil student. Later, I was lucky enough to receive Curtin scholarships and study support for my MPhil and PhD studies, and at the same time, was offered a lectureship at Curtin Malaysia.

“I am glad that I made that decision to be part of a Top 1% global university. As a teaching and research staff, I have gained valuable experience in teaching, research, leadership and service delivery. Over the past few years, I also attained my Dr. and Ir. titles and professional memberships, won several awards and grants, and authored a number of publications.

“I thank Curtin, my colleagues and students who have directly and indirectly contributed to my achievements and career development. I wish everyone a fruitful 2023 and let’s make tomorrow better together!” –Ir. Dr. Christine Yeo Wan Sieng, Chemical and Energy Engineering lecturer
