“The quiet calm of Miri often reminds me of where my journey began – the rural countryside of Wales. As an English student in Pontypridd, I would walk along snowy pavements with little more than a deep love for language and literature, never imagining where that passion might take me. Today, it has brought me to Curtin Malaysia.

Working at an international university has always been my dream. At Curtin Malaysia, surrounded by lush greenery and a vibrant mix of cultures, I teach students from diverse backgrounds who share the same curiosity for language, creativity and storytelling. Their enthusiasm reminds me why I fell in love with English in the first place.

To me, English is more than a subject – it is a bridge that connects cultures, ideas and people.
