Chee Lit Zhi

“Hi, I’m Chee Lit Zhi, a fourth-year electrical and electronics engineering student at Curtin Malaysia.

“I have to admit Curtin Malaysia wasn’t my first choice of university as my hometown is Ipoh and the thought of living away from home and studying in a distant state was quite daunting. Later, I had a lot of people asking me “Why do you want to travel so far to study?”, but I’m glad I made the decision to come.

“Actually, before joining as a foundation student in 2019, I travelled here in December 2018 for a Curtin summer camp for secondary school students. My friends and I had a lot of fun and I instantly fell in love with the environment and the campus lifestyle. That was when I decided to study at Curtin Malaysia.

“Over these few years, I have gotten to know many people, was greatly inspired by my lecturers, and have had many memorable times, including studying online from home during the COVID-19 lockdown. Luckily, our lecturers did a great job supporting us during the tough time.

“Looking back, although the journey is not always a bed or roses, Curtin Malaysia has given me many opportunities to grow and develop myself into a determined and versatile individual. I can proudly say I made the right decision to join Curtin Malaysia and Curtin will always be a part of my life.” – Chee Lit Zhi, Electrical and Electronics Engineering student
