“For the first time in my life, attending an international conference changed my life! Attending the 8th University Scholar Leadership Symposium or USLS in Bangkok was something I would never forget. Now, whenever someone asks me how USLS was, I would undoubtedly reply that it was simply amazing and a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“I really enjoyed the experience, spending time with all the wonderful delegates from around the world and taking part in the different activities. I befriended the shiest but most adorably mischievous boy named Pie at an orphanage we visited. And I was really enamored by the hustle and bustle of Bangkok with its roads filled with cars, motorbikes and tuk-tuks, not to mention the great food that would satisfy any foodie.
“USLS broadened my perspectives in many ways. Meeting and discussing world issues with other youth delegates convinced me that the youth of today have a big role to play in making the world a better place. Everyone was so passionate and engaged in discussions, which really inspired and motivated me. I truly felt as though I was a not just a citizen of Malaysia but a global citizen. I have come to believe that there is always light at the end of the tunnel, and no matter how small your efforts are in your own community, it somehow contributes to a greater, global goal.” –Cheah Kah Kei (Kayla), Accounting and Finance student
