“For me, Curtin Malaysia is an ideal place to hone my academic, leadership, and extra-curricular capabilities. Joining Curtin Malaysia was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. If I had to pick a few defining features of the university, it would be the diligent lecturers, the exceptional facilities and the variety of student clubs.

“I can still recall when I first joined the Foundation in Engineering and Science programme in 2019. I enrolled late and only started classes after week 4 had started. I agonised over how to catch up with on studies, but turned out my worries are unwarranted. The lecturers are very committed and provided lots of revision classes and private consultations. They also responded very quickly to any enquiries from students. These aspects remain unchanged even amidst this pandemic. As a result, I have been able to adapt without much hiccups and my exceptional results serve as a testament to their hard work. The library and study areas on campus also proved indispensable as they provided a conducive environment for my studies.

“I later joined various student clubs such as the IEEE and IChemE student chapters, Orientation Leaders and the Curtin Swimming Club. I enjoyed participating in the various workshops, seminars and competitions organized for students. I was able to learn various things such as using Arduino and compete with other students in competitions such as the Spin Us a Tale story writing competition. I was also able to make many new friends and hone my public speaking skills as an Orientation Leader. Thanks to all of these activities, I have been able to enjoy a very fulfilling university life.” –Chan Yit San, Civil and Construction Engineering
