“Hi, I’m Dr Bridgid Chin Lai Fui, Associate Professor in the Chemical and Energy Engineering Department at Curtin Malaysia.

Throughout my journey as an eager student to becoming an esteemed associate professor, I feel like I’ve come full circle. My time at Curtin Malaysia has been transformative, a period of immense growth and learning that has shaped not only my career but also my perspectives on life.

When I walked through the halls of Curtin Malaysia as a student, I was filled with dreams and aspirations, just like the students I now have the privilege to teach. I vividly remember the dedicated professors and lecturers who guided me, nurtured my curiosity, and encouraged me to aim higher. Their impact on my life was immeasurable, and I knew that one day, I wanted to pay it forward.

Becoming an associate professor at Curtin Malaysia was a dream come true. It’s not just a job; it’s a calling. I get to inspire and guide the next generation of students, just as my lecturers did for me. Watching their faces light up when they grasp a complex concept or witnessing their passion ignite as they delve into research is incredibly rewarding. It demonstrates that when a university invests in its students, they have the potential to accomplish extraordinary feats, thereby enhancing the very institution that played a pivotal role in their development.
