“Singing and dancing have been my passion since I was 10 years old when my father handed me a participation form for a singing competition and asked if I wanted to give it a try. Without hesitation, I took up the challenge and to my surprise, I didn’t experience any stage-fright at all. In fact, I discovered I enjoyed performing on stage from that first experience. Since then, I have taken part in numerous performances and competitions.
“Whenever I get the opportunity to perform before large audiences, I see it as a platform to grow and improve. Through dancing, I have learned to be more understanding towards others as it involves a great deal of teamwork.
“At times, criticism can be rather discouraging but on a positive note, it can help us recognise our weaknesses and strive to do better. Until today, I am still holding on to my dream of becoming a dance instructor and I hope to be able to conduct dance lessons on a part time basis in future.” –Audrey Yong Ming Lee, Bachelor of Commerce student
