“I am part of the sales team at Japanese real estate digital marketing firm, handling inbound and outbound sales, finding potential clients, meeting with them, and afterwards, closing sales. So I spend much of my time analysing the property market and building relationships.

“As part of an international sales team, I find the work environment simply amazing. The management really takes the time to develop their employees, ensuring that they take full ownership of their work and are equipped with all the necessary business skills to carry out their work effectively. The company focuses on building trust and working as a family.

“It might seem odd that I’m working in sales when my course at Curtin Malaysia was in accounting, but the course was not all about accounting. It was quite holistic, with non-accounting units that also prepared for work in the corporate world. It also helped that I interned with the company as a student and learned enough to be offered a permanent position right after graduation.

“Working in Malaysia after graduation has always been my plan and I consider myself very lucky to be given the opportunity. I really enjoyed my student experience at the university and now, as a working professional, I have the opportunity to learn a different aspect of life in Malaysia. I have come to really love this country and I feel right at home here.” –Araf Bin Tarek (Bangladesh)Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) graduate, now Assistant Sales Manager with Samurai Internet Sdn Bhd, Kuala Lumpur
