“My initial university experience was an emotional roller-coaster. Coping with a new life away from home in Maldives was challenging. Thanks to the diverse and very inclusive campus community, the amazing lecturers and all the great friends I’ve made here, I overcame the challenges and have really enjoyed my student life here over the past three years.

“The experience encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and explore different interests which led me to become the fitness junkie I am today. Fitness has had a positive impact on both my personal and academic life.

“My coursework wasn’t limited to classroom study and exams. There was a lot of practical learning where I was encouraged to interact and engage, from organising events to designing marketing campaigns for actual companies. I continue to apply a lot of the things I learned to my current job as a marketing and business development officer.

“I graduated from Curtin with much more than just a degree. My university experience shaped me into the person I am today, and I’m beginning this new chapter in my life as a strong, confident woman, ready to conquer whatever challenges life throws at me.” –Aminath Azman Marzooq, Tourism & Hospitality and Marketing graduate, marketing and business development officer with Commercial Bank of Maldives
